My research focuses on precision nutrition and metabolic health, with a particular interest in understanding why individuals respond differently to the same foods. During my PhD, I used continuous glucose monitoring, multi-omics data and machine learning to characterize individual differences in postprandial glycemic responses and explore their underlying determinants.
Ultimately, I hope this work can contribute to microbiome-informed precision nutrition and support more personalized strategies for the prevention and management of type 2 diabetes.
In the Bäckhed Lab, I am investigating whether and how the gut microbiome can help explain individual differences in glycemic responses among people with prediabetes. By integrating gut microbiome profiles with continuous glucose monitoring and other metabolic data, I aim to identify microbial features associated with personalized glycemic responses and better understand their underlying biological mechanisms.
I enjoy working in the Bäckhed Lab because its interdisciplinary and collaborative environment brings together expertise in microbiome biology, metabolism and clinical research, allowing me to connect computational findings with biological mechanisms and clinical applications.
