Microbiome-derived ethanol in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease

Professor Fredrik Bäckhed is honored to have been part of the study on "Microbiome-derived ethanol in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease" which was just published in Nature Medicine, demonstrating that Microbiome-derived ethanol may contribute to NAFLD. The publication was spearheaded by the talented Stijn Meijnikman from the Lab of Professor Max Nieuwdorp at the Amsterdam University Medical Centers, and funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
