Statin therapy is associated with lower prevalence of gut microbiota dysbiosis according to an article from a European study, recently published in Nature. The mechanisms are not specified, but the results are still clear in this first large publication from the EU-based collaborative project MetaCardis, where Fredrik Bäckhed is one of 14 research groups from six countries.
