Our researcher and expert microbiologist Valentina Tremaroli is often appointed to speak about the role of the gut microbiome at international conferences. Lately she was invited to speak at the Congress of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders – European Chapter (IFSO-EC) on the topic "Mechanisms involved in Bariatric Metabolic Surgery:​ Gut microbiota". The program included a wide range of the topics to cover all aspects of the surgery of obesity and metabolic disorders. 

The role of gut microbiota on the metabolism is still a relative new research area and Valentina contributed with a lot of news and data to the audience. He passion for the complexity of bacteria, their diversity and metabolism, shines through on a daily basis.
