I love the scientific discussions and to explore new things!

My research area is focusing on the interaction between bile acids and the gut microbiota and how this fascinating interplay can affect host metabolism in health and disease.

Bile acids are important signaling molecules involved in a wide range of metabolic processes. I have previously shown that the gut microbiota modulates bile acid profiles and signaling in mouse models. My current focus is to investigate if changes in the interactions between bile acids and the gut microbiota can contribute to metabolic disease in humans and the ultimate goal is to find new treatment options for obesity and type 2 diabetes.
