Rima Chakaroun (Dr. med) is a clinician scientist specializing in endocrinology and metabolic disease. She is interested in how the gut microbiome and the human host interact to affect the host’s health towards, or away from non-communicable metabolic diseases. She is also interested in how multi-omes come together in disease alleviation after metabolic interventions such as metabolic surgery.

Rima, who is from the Department of Internal Medicine, Neurology and Dermatology, Leipzig, Germany, joined our group in September 2021.
