I am interested in the gut microbiota field since it integrates several fascinating research areas and shows great promise for the future.
In my research I investigate how interaction between dietary lipids and the gut microbiota affects host metabolism and health. I want to understand how the composition of dietary lipids influences gut microbiota profile, production of microbial metabolites and intestinal absorption of lipopolysaccharides and other microbially derived molecules. The overall aim of my work is to identify specific combinations of dietary lipids and gut bacteria critical for human health.
