My research is focused on characterizing less studied microbes in the human gut microbiome and to investigate strain level cross-talk in relation to human health and disease.
During my PhD studies, I was fascinated by the evolution of low frequency variants in a bacterial population. In my current role, am focused on working at the interface of microbial genomics and metagenomics with a special interest in studying strain level variants in the gut microbiome.
Ultimately, my aim is to contribute towards an ongoing effort to translate laboratory findings into clinical application.
