Wanli He

Researcher, bioinformatician

PhD

Wanli is a bioinformatician and his research has primarily been focused on the intricate interplay between the gut microbiome and plasmidome, with a particular emphasis on developing novel computational tools for the detection and analysis of plasmid genomes within complex metagenomic datasets.

"It is facinating to think that you carry more bacteria and virus in your gut than human cells..."

As bioinformatician Wanli will be performing analyses on the gut microbiome with the aim of revealing the role of the microbiome in human disease and in particular type 2 diabetes. He will also be contributing to additional analyses in the group.
