On the cover of Gut journal

23 January 2023

The beautiful Oscar Fredrik Church in Gothenburg, Sweden was choosen for the cover of the February issue of Gut, a leading international journal publishing cutting-edge gastroenterology and hepatology research and reviews.

Gut is a leading international journal in gastroenterology and hepatology and has an established reputation for publishing first class clinical research of the alimentary tract, the liver, biliary tree and pancreas. Gut delivers up-to-date, authoritative, clinically oriented coverage in all areas of gastroenterology and hepatology. Regular features include articles by leading authorities describing novel mechanisms of disease and new management strategies, both diagnostic and therapeutic, likely to impact on clinical practice within the foreseeable future.

The reason for choosing a Gothenburg attraction was to highlight the article by our team member Kassem Makki on the impact of dietary fibre supplementation on bile acid transformation by gut bacteria and its effect on body weight/metabolism. The article  "6α-hydroxylated bile acids mediate TGR5 signalling to improve glucose metabolism upon dietary fiber supplementation in mice" was first published online in June last year and is now included in the February printed issue 2, volume 72, 2023.

Congratulations to Kassem!
