Proud to celebrate a remarkable achievement

15 May 2025

Our colleague, Dr. Rima Chakaroun, researcher and MD, has been awarded the 2025 EASO & Novo Nordisk Foundation New Investigator Award in Clinical Research. The award ceremony took place during the EASO Annual Congress held in Málaga, Spain, from 11–14 May.

Rima is being recognized for her outstanding research in obesity and metabolism, particularly her work exploring how gut microbiota, diet, and sex-specific factors influence the development and treatment of obesity.

"It is a great honor to receive this award. It highlights the dedication of clinician-scientists like myself who work to destigmatize obesity and develop personalized, cutting-edge treatments. Most importantly, it offers a valuable platform to engage with key voices in obesity research and advocacy across Europe and beyond.", says Rima.
